AI Innovation in Business: Insights from a Qatar Panel Discussion
As a healthcare professional deeply interested in the intersection of technology and medicine, I was honored to be invited as a panelist at the Kerala Entrepreneurs Club Qatar for their session on “AI Innovation and Technology in Business.” This event, organized by the KEC team, brought together experts from various fields to discuss the transformative power of AI across industries.
The panel consisted of four speakers, each bringing unique insights from their respective fields:
1. Safrudeen Farook, CEO and Co-founder of Spendwisor
Safrudeen shared insights on the evolution of BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later) in Qatar. He highlighted how AI integration has revolutionized customer validation processes for loans, reducing what once took two weeks to just two seconds.
2. Mustafa Saidalavi, CEO & Founder of Ebtida.Ai Qatar
As a Digital Transformation Specialist and AIML Trailblazer, Mustafa discussed how AI is reshaping the software industry. He emphasized how AI-driven workflows can result in massive cost savings for businesses.
3. Ameen Abdul Salam, Lead Software Developer at Infobhan Systems & Services
Ameen, an AI Integration expert, provided insights on AI integration in businesses and tools which entrepreneurs can implement.
4. My Contribution: AI in Healthcare
I focused on the impact of AI in the healthcare sector, covering:
- The potential impact of AI on healthcare professionals and patients
- The importance of patient rights and data protection, especially concerning Patient Health Information (PHI)
- Near and long-term projections of AI’s influence on the healthcare ecosystem
- The process of product development in healthtech
- The crucial role healthcare providers play in both healthtech startups and established enterprises
The event concluded with a Q&A session where the audience posed questions ranging from data protection strategies to the evolution of medical education in response to AI advancements. There were also concerns about the changing landscape for healthcare workers and the potential for AI to replace certain roles.
This panel discussion highlighted the pervasive nature of AI and its potential to revolutionize various sectors, from finance to healthcare. As we stand on the brink of this technological revolution, it’s crucial that we continue to have these discussions, addressing both the opportunities and challenges that AI presents.
